Article কি বা Article কাকে বলে?

আজ আমরা Article নিয়ে আলোচনা করবো ...........

⏩যা দ্বারা কোন noun কে নির্দিষ্ট বা অনির্দিষ্ট ভাবে নির্দেশ করা হয় তাকে Article বা পদাশ্রিত নির্দেশক বলে।

Article এর প্রকারভেদঃ -

⏩Article দুই প্রকার।যথাঃ-

১.Definite Article:-যে Article দ্বারা noun কে নির্দিষ্টভাবে নির্দেশ করা হয় তাকে Definite Article বলে।

✅"The" কে Definite Article বলে।

২.Indefinite Article:-যে Article দ্বারা noun কে অনির্দিষ্টভাবে নির্দেশ করা হয় তাকে Indefinite Article বলে 

✅A এবং An কে Indefinite Article বলে।

Article কি কোনো Parts Of speech ?

⏩অবশ্যই।অনেকেই Article কে Parts of Speech হিসাবে মেনে নিতে রাজি নয়।

আর যারা মানে তাদের অনেকের মতে Article হলো Preposition অথবা Conjunction.কিন্তু ব্যাপারটা এমন না।

Preposition এর নিয়ম

Article হলো Adjective.

আমি parts of speech এর আলোচনার মধ্যে বলেছিলাম-যে word দ্বারা noun বা pronoun দোষ,গুণ,অবস্থা,পরিমাণ,সংখ্যা ইত্যাদি বোঝায় তাকে Adjective বলে।

A,An এবং The দ্বারা সাধারণত Noun এর পরিমাণ বা সংখ্যা বোঝায় তাই এটি Adjective.ক্লিয়ার?

Article কীসের ভিত্তিতে বসে ?

হ্যা,আমরা অনেকেই এইটা জানি যে Article বসে vowel/consonant এর ভিত্তিতে।

ইভেন,প্রায় সকল বইয়েও এইটা লিখা।

কিন্তু আজ থেকে এই কথাটা আমরা সম্পূর্ণ ভাবে মন থেকে মুছে ফেলবো।

❎vowel/consonant এর ভিত্তিতে Article বসে না|

বরং,

✅Article বসে sound🔈বা উচ্চারণের উপর ভিত্তি করে।

হজম হলো না?

আচ্ছা চলো দুইটা উদাহরণ দেখি...

An honest

A University     

অর্থাৎ,vowel sound হলে An এবং Consonant Sound হলে A বসে।

Article কোথায় ব্যবহার করতে হয়?

⏩Article সাধারনত Countable Noun এর পূর্বে বসে।

তবে মনে রাখতে হবে,ক্ষেত্র বিশেষে তা Adjective বা Adverb এর পূর্বেও বসে।

এবার চলো A,An এবং The ব্যবহার নিয়ে আলোচনা করা যাকঃ-

A/An এর ব্যবহার

* অনির্দিষ্ট কোনো ব্যক্তি বা বস্তু বোঝাতে A/An বসে।

যেমনঃ-He has got a watch.

Vowel এর উচ্চারণ যদি Vowel এর মতোই হয় তবে তার আগে An বসে।

যেমনঃ-An apple, An egg, An orange, An umbrella ইত্যাদি।

Vowel এর উচ্চারণ যদি Consonant এর মতো হয় তবে তার আগে A বসে।

উদাহরণস্বরূপ—

* U এর উচ্চারণ যদি "ইউ" এর মতো হয়-A University.

* O এর উচ্চারণ যদি "ওয়া" এর মতো হয়-A One taka note.

 Consonant এর উচ্চারণ যদি consonant এর মতোই হয় তবে তার পূর্বে A বসে।

যেমনঃ-A book, A chair, A doll, A horse

Consonant এর উচ্চারণ যদি vowel এর মতো হয় তবে তার আগে An বসে।

উদাহরণস্বরূপঃ-

*'H' যদি অনুচ্চারিত হয়ে পরবর্তী Vowel sound অনুসারে উচ্চারিত হয়-An honest man, 

An honorable person.

Abbreviation বা সংক্ষিপ্ত শব্দের প্রথম অক্ষরটি Vowel এর মতো উচ্চারিত হলে An বসে এবং Consonant এর মতো উচ্চারিত হলে A বসে।

যেমনঃ- An M.A.,A B.S(c)

Few, little, amount of, good many, lot of, good deal ইত্যাদির পূর্বে A/An বসে।

যেমনঃ-There is a little water in the jug.

Superlative 'most' এর অর্থ যখন very বা খুব বেশি বোঝায় তখন The এর পরিবর্তে A বসে।

যেমনঃ-This is a most interesting story.

Abstract noun যখন Common noun রূপে ব্যবহ্রত হয় তখন তার পূর্বে A/An বসে।

যেমনঃ-Helen was a beauty.

কিছু Phrase এর মাঝে A/An বসে।

যেমনঃ-in a hurry, to take an interest

The এর ব্যবহার

Common Noun এর singular number এর পূর্বে The বসে।

The cow is a domestic animal.

ধর্মগ্রন্থ এর পূর্বে - The Quran.

সংবাদপত্র এর পূর্বে -   the Daily star.

একটাই আছে এমন কিছুর পূর্বে   -The sun.

নির্দিষ্ট কিছুর পূর্বে  - the green book.

পদবী এর পূর্বে  - the mayor, the president.

জায়গা এর পূর্বে দেশের ভৌগোলিক নাম এর পূর্বে - the Himalayas  the USA,the UK

তারিখ এর পূর্বে  - the 26th march.

জাতি এর পূর্বে  - The poor, the rich.

পেশা এর পূর্বে   - he joined the army.

ক্রমিক সংখ্যা এর পূর্বে -  he is the first girl in the class.

superlative degree এর আগে - He is the best boy.

One of/most of এর পরে  - one of the boys is present today.

কিছু  Phrase এর ক্ষেত্রে  -  at the end, one the other hand.

স্বাভাবিক অর্থে Preper/Common noun এর পূর্বে 

_Gold is a precious metal.,_Shojol is a good student.

Abstract noun এর পূর্বে    _Honesty is the best policy.

রোগের পূর্বে  __cholera, __fever

খাবারের সময়ের পূর্বে   _breakfast, _dinner

খেলাধুলার নামের পূর্বে    _cricket, _football

গ্রহের নামের পূর্বে    _Mars, _Jupitar

দেশের নামের পূর্বে   _Bangladesh,_ Saudi Arabi

বিষয়ের নামের পূর্বে     _ICT, _Bangla

ব্যতিক্রম

Planet এর আগে Article বসে না,কিন্তু নিজ মাতৃভূমি বোঝালে the বসে।

We have to save the Earth.

দেশের নামের আগে Article বসে না,কিন্তু দেশের সমষ্টি বোঝাতে the বসে। 

The USA

 পর্বত মালা বা দ্বীপপুঞ্জের আগে the বসলেও একটি মাত্র পর্বত বা দ্বীপ এর আগে Article বসে না।

__Mount Everest is the highest pick of the Himalayas.

Noun এর আগে Number থাকলে The বসে,কিন্তু পরে থাকলে Article বসে না |

Noun এর আগে Number থাকলে The বসে,কিন্তু পরে থাকলে Article বসে না।
